Windows 11's File Explorer is now faster at deleting large files, in a rare speed win from Microsoft

Now that agentic AI garbage will wipe your entire hard drive before you even have time to pull the plug.

Windows has sunk so low that a partial fix of a basic file operation that MS repeatedly crippled is supposedly an achievement worth reporting about. The bar is buried in hell and the OS struggles to pass even that.

Probably deletes faster than it takes to open the start menu or an explorer window

Why would deleting a large file take any different amount of time than deleting a small file?

I’m so confused as to who needs to delete files quickly.

Load files? Yes. But deleting them?

If you’re worried about an fbi raid or something, just stick a can of thermite above the disk and blow torch to get it lit; or something.

For everything else there’s just good data security.
