If people would stop whining about how boycotts aren't gonna work and actually tried for once, maybe you'd see a different result. If you actually give a shit about this, stop spreading the message about how it's hopeless, and start telling Sony to kick rocks.
Just a week? PlayStation has been a predatory service for over a decade now. Ever since they started charging you a yearly fee to play with your friends, they entered into the “evil company” territory. I’ll play single player games on my PS5, but I can’t justify buying a multiplayer game for PlayStation when Steam lets me play for free with my friends, at a much better price point.
So after Pablo Torre did two episodes on the EA College Football 27 boycott and microtransaction reversal, playstation fans decided on the most toothless way to show their displeasure. Brilliant.
Cynical take: this will achieve absolutely nothing, but I’m sure the half dozen people who actually boycott (rather that just saying they will) will feel really good about themselves after.
What is with the condescending take on it? Giving up is certainly not doing anything useful for yourself either. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. But giving up from the start because you think it's hopeless is a sure fire way to lose. It's not about feeling good about myself, it's about not letting them take away our choice. I'm gonna fight for our choice, and you should too. You can be cynical and still try.
Yeah. People would have to actually start buying massive amounts of physical games and probably a blackout as well plus other forms of protest to get Sony to reconsider and even then I don't think they're going to do that.
They literally have a social media blackout right now because they're hoping if they ignore the news long enough people will forget.

It's more effort than plenty of people on here are willing to put in. Thanks for your contribution.
