Yeah, while I deal with windows at work I was glad they got me a non corporate laptop so I stopped it down to just bare essentials. I do want to try Linux at work but with smart cards and private CAs I'll deal with windows for now.
I use Fedora for work. One piece of software I have won't run in wine though, because it does some weird SSL certificate stuff. So, I still need virtual machine manager. but, everything else, including compiling I updated our build tools to work properly in linux.
Fortunately, no smart cards or anything though, and unmanaged system
So ... how enshittified is Apple nowadays? Last time I had to work on a Windows machine, I installed a Linux desktop in WSL, but those were the pre-LLM days.
Apple is a lot better than Windows but slowly getting worse. They keep pushing their own services more and more aggressively while the quality of their software drops over time. Not to mention that iOS is so locked down that they don't have to worry about things like pushing Edge because they just don't allow any other browsers.

I run Fedora at work that utilizes smart cards and socks proxies, several vpns and private certificates and it works like a charm.

windows is far worse in enshittification terms. least mac has a bash shell inherently

Defaults to zsh these days but bash is certainly still there.

Apple has been slow to get into the LLM game and it's not that intrusive at this point, but that could change.
