unfortunately, Windows is integrating AI into core apps by using AI to code. Microslop has promised that the next version of Windows will be agenic first, which means Windows will be a feature of Copilot, not the other way round.
At that point the only script that'll strip the AI out will be:
shutdown /s /f /t 000
People always tell me I need to keep my phone up to date, but every time I update I regret it. Did so yesterday and they turned a bunch of AI bullshit back on. I’m so tired.
They also changed the way everything looks and I can’t revert it. Took me 40 minutes to change the clock on my lock screen from dark grey back to white.
@cannedtuna This is why opt-out doesn't work. If you reset/reinstall your system, you have to remember to opt-out again.
Same thing anytime you switch to a different system.
The vendor can also create 'snazzy new feature' that has a similar-but-different behavior embedded in it... and the new feature is opt-out. #darkpattern
@cannedtuna Just use Kagi AI & you won't have to turn any defaults off. I'm happy with their way of doing things because it's done right out of the gate.

This powershell script is such a lifesaver for people who constantly reimage windows.
It has a few scripts in it to rip out AI and telemetry as well as many windows features, without having to even open edge.
(I use Fedora btw)

They have said this a bunch, here is just one example from before their recent developers conference even.

Fully endorsed. That said, if you have to use Windows, try the IOT versions.

It boggles my mind that so many people have so little self-respect that they put up with having an abusive relationship with their computer.
