All these related AI claims like "AI will cure cancer" or anything related to AI solving otherwise unsolved scientific problems are always hilarious. Curing cancer or any other disease requires us to fully understand the biological mechanisms of the disease enough to then even attempt to affect it with a drug.
AI learns and does its thing via input data from human knowledge and our current understanding. How can AI possibly gain an understanding of the disease mechanism or biological/biochemical system beyond that which humans understand? Not to mention it can't perform any sort of experiments to even test an idea.
Sure I can appreciate it speeding up certain analyses that are otherwise tedious to do ourselves, but it's never going to spit out some magic bullet cure
Im a process chemist and we often actually form solutions at the end of a chemical process that are unfortunately deemed "final solutions". There's not really a way around it since it's the most technically accurate way to describe what we're dealing with
The previous provincial election showed it's what the people want. It's so unbelievably frustrating.
I don't care for the liberals and would love an NDP leadership, but their platform was non-existent during the last election. These parties need charisma and a clear platform to stand a chance. Left leaning people vote for liberal by default but they're arguably just as destructive as the conservatives in their own way, all while further stoking the conservative attitude further towards the self-destructive right.
These conservatives do well because they're loud, have easily digestible phrases, hate on Toronto, and pander to their mad/frustrated/racist/uneducated/wealthy base. I wish the NDP would stoop to their levels
Love cats but hate cat houses. One room becomes the cat room, it's got a litter box and the litters everywhere and it's no longer your room. It's the cat pee and poop room and your job is to clean that room not own it.
My performance MX micro switch fails every 1- 2 years. I bought a cheap pack of 10 microswitches and open them up to use the springs as donors. Swap the worn spring for the new one and it's back in business, no need to even solder
Pretty insane to consider that sort of scale, this projection really distorts reality

Real talk - it's a complete waste of time and a product of corporate complacency
