Eurosky is a social media/microblogging service operated by a European non-profit that federates with Bluesky.

In my opinion, that is a worthy YSK because people don't know that they can view and interact with Bluesky content without giving your data to an American for-profit entity.

mu.social is absolutely the superior bsky frontend imo

(plus you can edit your posts and have a little dog, cat, or fox be your buddy while you browse)

is it not giving the data if bluesky has it passing through their system with federation.

All the data on the AT Proto is public anyway. This is about storage.

Every project/startup that includes Euro (this and EuroOS) claims to be a European solution to something is a scam by ignorant fools out for getting a quick buck.

huppakee@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 37d (7 replies)

So how exactly is this non-profit making a quick buck?

DmMacniel@feddit.org · 0 pts · 37d (6 replies)

One way I can imagine would be funding (in the form of grants) by the EU. ooooooor

"ethical monetization"

huppakee@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 37d (1 reply)

There are many easier and quicker ways to make a quick buck. It'd be fine by me if you'd tell people to be wary if a project includes the word euro, but to call them all scammers is a bit much imo.

yeah you are right.

do you know the meaning of "non-profit"?

DmMacniel@feddit.org · 1 pts · 34d (2 replies)

you mean non-profit like OpenAI? yeah miss me with that shit.

sbrodolino_21@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 33d (1 reply)

OpenAI isn't a non profit anymore. I fail to see your point. Are you arguing that non profits don't exist?

DmMacniel@feddit.org · 1 pts · 33d

It never was non-profit.

B0rax@feddit.org · 1 pts · 37d (2 replies)

Is it mastodon?

Niquarl@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 37d

No it's on the AT network.
