I didn't know about this one. I am loving that there are more and more open source ebook readers on the horizon.
So after reading about it, I love their attitude. It doesn't really do anything that I don't already have on my readers, but I like how they are all, "It does one thing, and does it well." And the whole open source part. Love it!
For me personally, when it comes to ereaders, yes less is more. I just want control over fonts, spacing and margins. And then just read. That's it. So I like their vibe.
Its actually been around for a while. Quite a few people have made it, although it became harder after the pandemic. Ive wanted one for a while but im planning on getting the dipix sibce its a bit more novel.
Unrelated, do you mind if i schedule up some unique/strange/custom ebook readers for the community? Ive done some open source work over the years for ebook readers. Putting them on some strange divices. Just once a day at most.
All these kind of things have way too small screens. For me the point of an e-book reader is to be as much like a book as it can. 4.2 inches will not fit an average book page nicely.
I think everyone has a different opinion on what an ebook reader "should" be. A person at work has a Xteink X4 and they have been selling like hot cakes. Screen is a bit small.

I'd much rather have an e-reader with buttons and no touchscreen than one with a touchscreen but no buttons.

I use a kobo e-reader right now, but I’m thinking of putting an open source ROM on there to be sure Kobo cannot mess with my books.
Kind of like rockbox for mp3 players, but for e-readers.

Im just glad we have options.
