Replaced the OPV spring in my GCP to a 9 bar one and got four back-to-back shots that all looked like this

I didn’t have as good of consistency with the 15 bar stock one so I’m happy I made the switch.

7-9 bar is about perfect. 15 would likely taste burnt due to overextraction.

I’m not sure if burnt is the right word, but it was a touch bitter maybe. And not always, but sometimes. It was far more inconsistent before. The 9 bar spring is way more consistent.

Nothing quite like mastering your gear and pulling shots a seasoned barista would be happy with. Enjoy the feeling - and the coffee.
