Ethernet cupboard was looking messy, and full of lots of odd sizes and colours. And I wanted to hook up another device and was out. 5x 0.5m cat6 to the rescue. Might send a pic if it is dull enough when swapped over

Me neither, but still glad I have the ability to do it. I did it when I ran cables through my house so I have outlets and a patch panel in a 19" rack

Half of a millimeter might be too short for a cat5/6 cable, they're not supposed to be less than a meter.

Shortest we have in stock is 150mm (15 cm) cables which we use sometimes to connect device pairs (sync mac's/heartbeat etc). No idea it it's within standards, but no complaints nor problems.
