Can we just start using this more true-to-life image in articles? Tired of seeing his "beautified filter" face everywhere.

It seems ironic that I keep seeing spam about Elon Musk from a community named "Enough Musk Spam."

Winter_Oven@piefed.social · 8 pts · 14d (2 replies)

maybe it is like "there's enough musk spam here, no need to post them anywhere else"

like the community volunteered itself to be the spittoon of musk stuff to protect the others

"We're annoyed with constantly seeing stuff about Elon Musk, so our plan is to all group together and post exclusively things about Elon Musk. To... help? Wait, why are we doing this again?"

OneWomanCreamTeam@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 14d

Because if most of it's contained into one community, you can just block that community and you don't have to see musk stuff if you don't want to.

That's the idea at least.

Haha, he looks like Gollum

RandomHugs@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 14d (1 reply)

There's so much ammunition to use, that reducing to bash him because of his appearance is just petty, childish behaviour which is easy to dismiss from his side.

Most of his photos are filtered to make him look prettier than he is.

True, many photos of people in the public spot light are altered to look better.

Some are intentional to make the person look more attractive because the halo effect bias is real.

Some of these alterations are done by photographer to make their photos more aesthetic because they look better in a portfolio that helps them get work.

Plus people will hire photographers or allow photographers to be in their restricted spaces that have a history of taking flattering photos of them.

But to come back to the halo effect.

The halo effect is where we humans tend to think people who are good looking are better.

Smarter. Kinder. Just good. Good people. Deserving of wealth and health.

They have to be. Look at that handsome,/beautiful face.

They couldn't possibly have committed those crimes!

This is an intentional manipulation tactic to downplay someone's criminal behavior.

I aim to reverse that effect. Show him as ugly so people can more easily imagine the crimes he commits and acknowledge them.

Musk is ugly. He's not attractive or handsome. Neither physically not personality wise. I dislike that he is always portrayed as much different (physically) than he really is to try to downplay who he really is.

It's the same thing that all those magas do with images of trump as a big buff muscular dude.

Glasses have often been used to make defendants look smarter and more humble in court cases to appeal to the jury and judge.

It's encouraging a perspective on personality based on appearance.

It's all the same b.s

But people absolutely fall for it.

Is that a reference to the song or something someone said?

Buffalox@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 14d

Please tell me this is genuine and not AI slop.

A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip · 9 pts · 14d (1 reply)
  1. he and his hair did look like that before he had enough money to "fix" himself
  2. I think the image is just a little squashed in the vertical, making his face more round and gollum-like
daannii@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 13d

Yeah I think it's photo manipulation. Photoshop or some other software. And it's easy to curve text and warp it in PS.

Eggymatrix@sh.itjust.works · -2 pts · 14d (3 replies)

Its slop

TheFriendlyDickhead@feddit.org · 19 pts · 14d (2 replies)

This looks more like plain old photoshop to me

ThunderComplex@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 14d (1 reply)

Something about the text tickles my slop detector tho

daannii@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 13d

It probably would be gibberish if it was aI.

Nah, Photoshop can curve text like this pretty easy.
