The legendary architecture school marks its centenary amid political and identity tensions, as the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party surges in Saxony-Anhalt. The Bauhaus Foundation in Dessau fears budget cuts and renewed attacks on its modernist legacy.

I mean, always have, the OG Nazis already attacked the Bauhaus.

Which probably is the only reason they even recognize the term and don't confuse it with that do-it-yourself-store...

Damn you, now I spent 364 Euros on tools and parts I might need when I do this project I've been planning to start for the past 12 years.

If someone asks that was money well spend to trigger some nazis.

Bauhaus: "Function over form. By all means be creative. Be innovative. Be wild. But remember that what you design must, foremost, serve it's purpose."

Nazis: "Somehow I disagree."

Wrong order. It's not that culture war happens because you disagree. The culture war is the goal (usually as a diversion) and so you just invent a disagreement to make it happen. I doesn't need to make any sense as you just disagree to disagree anyway.

I hated the far right already but now I shall hate them even more.

It's the 1920s again! 100 years and those Nazis haven't learned anything

I dont like the Bauhaus style, while being way better than plain brutalist glass and concrete monasters, it is still way more aggressive than a nice classic building.

I hate the fascists, but that doesnt mean I need to defend everything they dont like.

Also please leave out the ugly buildings on the new euro bills
