Forgot to mention it earlier, but there's some happy news. The first purple magnolias have started to bloom along Brunswick Street, and the pear trees outside St Pats Cathedral likewise. The Devil's Candlestick outside the Houses of Parliament are also starting to bloom. Spring is just around the corner.
A few flowering plants in my garden have started too, seems at least a few weeks early this year. Itโs nice to see the flowers but feel
sorry for the climate change.
I've decided what to do with my financial windfall of some months ago. I am Apartment Hunting.
I love where I live. The area is great...but I'd love less feral neighbours. I'm also the city hub for the whole family when needed, and that would be a hell of a lot simpler with another bedroom to put them in
I fully agree. This is why I moved into a 2 bedroom unit when I downsized. One room for me (not negotiable) and one for whoever with a mattress on the floor. I don't own a big enough couch for sleeping on (unless you are a cat). Funnily enough, my sons plus girlfriends of the day suddenly stopped treating my place as a sports hotel quite as often.
You know. The Melbourne Cup is on, or the Grand Final, so one's offspring come home like swallows to their roost each summer, along with gfs, expecting free accommodation and food for 3 days. Then they depart, leaving a mountain of laundry behind and an empty freezer. I got jack of it. Happily, there's a budget motel only one block away from my current location so they've got no excuse going forward. And lots of dining options on High St. Grump/rant over.
100%, I haven't put in a fulsome effort yet but this is my plan too. A second bathroom for the second bedroom even better -- just in case a housemate becomes necessary. An apartment won't appreciate like the money will but the benefits of a place you own are significant too.
Pakidge yesterday. Got a tiny tripod for the Pocket 4 so I could put it in more places and turns out it's magnetic too, and strong enough to hold it up outright when stuck on a vertical surface and upside down. This opens up new angles.
I also got this little weather display that's really cool. Connect it to your wifi and select your city and it displays time and weather. It operates how smart devices should too, you connect to its local ip and control it through there instead of using an app.
My local Woolies has new shopping baskets, and the handles are positioned the GOOD way. Crossways instead of lengthways. Hooray hooray hooray! I hated the longways ones.
Picked up some kind of bug or cold from the footy on Saturday. Napped from like 1pm to 10pm Bleh BLEH
Least I was home for the new security system installers. The whole building got upgraded, so instead of an old phone on a receiver stuck to the wall, it's a little intercom device with a video! It feels so fancy!
If this is why my rent is going up to over $2k per month next month though, I'm gonna slap every Coalition PM we've had. Do we have a national database for where the old PMs are buried, lol?

Thatโs awesome. I feel like you guys should try and get to Korea at some point for love of hot pot, Soju, and Karaoke.

Why when I can recreate Korea in my own home? Nah just joking. It's definitely on my list of places to do.

Make them pay. Including re-location expenses for the strays.

They absolutely will be paying my relocation costs.
The strays I'm going to bribe a rescue to take them in.

Family is sooo much easier to navigate with a door that can be shut when needed.
Alamutjones@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 6d
I currently have ONE bed - mine.
As and when guests appear, my current solution is โAlamut sleeps on the living room floorโ. A second bedroom would be most helpful
