After we bought our first house we found out that one wall was hollow at one side. That was a full brick wall but a small 50x100 cm² patch sounded hollow. We opened it up and found absolutely nothing. Just a weird space where you could maybe display something or so. We couldn't discern a use for it beyond that.
Well, we did find a bunch of old coins from the previous owner's travels in our current house. Plus a treasure chest filled with old empty potato sacks.
Incredible they found 8m in gold. That is so much money. I mean what would you do with 6m? Yeah sure a Yacht sounds nice but don't you think you should invest the whole 4m to avoid wasting it?, in any case, not everyone reports randomly found 2m good bars.

Hmm I’m sure that gold has a completely innocent history.

Might be as "innocent" as tax evasion

He wanted to gold plate his audio cables and never got around to doing it.

Hiding it from the Nazis would be my guess

Well… who said this is everything they found?

Need to wait 5 years for getting half the loot, then probably give up almost another half in taxes and fees when converting that in fiat

So that's where I left it.

So the dude who posted these same photos on Reddit as the "finder" was full of shit and/or a bot, quelle surprise.

Most of the time Reddit is full bots. Like the comments under a post "once my friend....", just to farm karma.

Did i miss some kind of rule that states, that a builder can keep what they find on foreign property, aside from a finders reward?pantherina@feddit.org · 6 pts · 3d

The key thing here is that the gold is not the property of the charity, but some previous owner. It wasn't part of any purchase deed.
