How can it be both 'New' and 'Classic'?

atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works · 24 pts · 2d

The sandwich being described is the same one that chic-fil-a, mcchicken, etc. are based on. The “chicken fried chicken sandwich”. Because in the south “chicken fried” is an adjective that can be applied to multiple meats. That sandwich has been made at roadside dinners and food stands for a century.

But it’s also new to whatever menu this is.

They can see the future!

MimicJar@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 2d

Because it's just showing up on the menu now? Ha! Classic Chicken Sandwich, always showing up late.

wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz · 6 pts · 2d (1 reply)

The marketing team got a little carried away with the adjectives

New to the restaurant. Classic in that it’s the traditional chicken sandwich. Fried chicken cutlet, pickles, bun.

As opposed to like a buffalo chicken sandwich, or a “deluxe” which gets lettuce, tomato, and mayo added.

Just a spoonful of oil.

TribblesBestFriend@startrek.website · 15 pts · 2d

A tea spoon of protein powder. Know the burger taste like shit

fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 11 pts · 2d (2 replies)

A teaspoon of oil is 100kcal, more like a sniff of oil.

exasperation@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 5 pts · 2d

A spoonful of hot sauce that is emulsified with a little bit of oil for texture/flavor/viscosity, about 25 calories worth, mixed with basically zero calorie vinegar and spice.

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 2d

could add more mayo

Would search what the average calorie content of one dose of ejaculate is before ordering that.

Axolotl_cpp@feddit.it · 8 pts · 2d

Seems to be between 5~7 calories, if we assume 5 cooks do it, you can get between 25 and 35 calories, if you are (un)lucky you can get HIV on your burger too

I'm guessing it adds a "Wild" sauce or something

Psythik@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 2d (6 replies)

Great guess.

This is from the American chain restaurant Buffalo Wild Wings (I'd recognize that menu any day), and they're known for their sauces. "Wild" is a buffalo-style sauce and is their second hottest. And as a half Latino hot pepper enthusiast, I can confirm that it is indeed hot. (Personally I'm a fan of their Mango Habanero sauce.)

From their menu (ignore the blue circles; this was the clearest image I could find):

Rooster326@programming.dev · 3 pts · 2d (1 reply)

Is the 25 calories comprehensive?

If I shit my brains out eating "screamin hot sauce" - is it new calorie negative or positive?

ReluctantMuskrat@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1d

The screaming burns more calories

ReluctantMuskrat@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 1d

Mango habernero is indeed the best. Jamming jalapeño is quite tasty too.

There was a short while they switched their Blazin' to a very tasty ghost pepper that was very good despite being super hot but it's back to being hot but not very good.

I trust you're human (like me) but damn did that comment read like AI to me.

Psythik@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1d

You're absolutely right to be suspicious. 😉 I forget if there's a term for it or not, but I saw a video on a theory that says that AI is changing the way people speak.

FWIW, I very much intended to write the comment to sound like one. In this little social experiment I was testing for two things: 1. To see if speaking in the same patronizing tone an LLM uses actually results in a positive response from people (looks like it did), and 2. To see if anyone would even notice. (I almost got away with it too.)

Congrats on catching on.

"You're correct to assume that it adds a sauce to the item" aah line

TomMasz@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 2d

Hold on there, are you sure you're ready for that?

DreamlandLividity@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 1d

Oh, no sir! LOL This is America. That's not 25 calories, that's .25 caliber!

"Very good sir. Will that be Wild Style or Straight-up Buck Wild?"

Hey it's hand-breaded, someone's gotta pay for that labor.

X@piefed.world · 4 pts · 2d

Fine, I’ll pay the hands that made it, but I ain’t payin anything to the meat popsicle attached to ‘em.

Good proteins from the bug zapper. Yummy.

melsaskca@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 1d

Wild chicken is partridge. Make it a Partridge instead of a chicken? /s

wieson@feddit.org · 4 pts · 1d

"hand breaded"

ours@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2d

ADD chickens have extra calories.
