Gouache is impossible to pronounce. No one has ever said the word in my presence. A4 mixed media paper.

Um, are you by any chance colourblind?

I guess I'm colour world blind where I can't tell the difference between red and green as written.

Not to be a critic. Um, I don't see the green.

The shadow might be a blue-green? Could be my monitor. Or the green might be intentionally left out. I suppose you could also make it green if you stared at it long enough and then looked at a white screen ;p

You're right, the full title is "Study of a model studying something green that you the viewer cannot see(in red)"

Yeah, that also struck me right away. Maybe it's a choice by the artist in order to make us study their art in more detail.

Oh yea, totally no judgement. I'm just being a smartass.

Very nice! I believe it's pronounced "gwash."

That's a useful first approximation. I'd say pick any French video on painting with gouache and listen closely.

If you watch that and think: hey, that totally sounds like gwash, all good. Let's all remember this exists:

Yes, this is how you pronounce it (in french anyways 😁), gwash/goash.

Checked Larousse's text to speech, and it sounds pretty close to that indeed. Also pretty close to Portuguese, just without the compensatory -e or -i that is used at the end of foreign words ending in consonants that cause a strong stop.
