Neon colors are too bright and hurt my eyes. Pastel all the way, and especially the pastel goth aesthetic.

Hard to say without specifying the genre. I don't like most non-fiction, but I have found the occasional treasure. Most recently I reread Surely You Must Be Joking, Mr. Feynman, and that book is fantastic. Read it back in high school and it was a pleasure to revisit.
