Actually a use-case I wouldn't worry about. Cam-Rips suck ass at the best of times; I definitely would not watch one from a camera strapped to someones face...
Constant shaking and moving from adjusting your position, anytime something else catches your attention, or just generally sitting still (everyone has at least a tiny tremble/tremor).
If you had several people wearing them to the same show you could stitch together a decent rip and with the help of AI it could very watchable hallucinations and all.
Not that bootleg videos are really even watchable in the first place. Anyone who has ever misconfigured Radarr and got excited that a movie showed up earlier than expected, only to find out it’s a shitty hdcam release knows the disappointment.
A screen recorded with Meta spy glasses would be worse. Hold your head still, damnit—no, look at the screen, not your popcorn, and chew quietly for fuck’s sake.

Go when it’s empty. Lay the glasses on top of the seat next to you. Problem solved.

I remember dc++ and Kazaa rips in glorius 480p that had artifacting making them look half as good as advertised

So meta's AI can pirate but not people. Got it

copyright infringement is dependent on laws, if you know the laws well enough and can fight for your rights you can utilize loopholes
Cornpop@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 11d
Laughable they think this is enforceable
Squizzy@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 11d
How would it not be? Management has a right to refuse admission and a responsibility to prevent piracy.
Cornpop@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 10d
And when they are in my pocket when I walk in, how will that be enforced?
Squizzy@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 9d
Cavity search? What do you mean the same way anything is enforced, when it is highlighted it is addressed.
If I saw someone wearing sunglasses in a cinema it would probably stand out
Cornpop@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 9d
the theaters are already struggling are you really willing to go to a place and get searched just to watch a movie? That’s some weird shit
Squizzy@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 8d
No its sarcasm, someone waring sunglasses in a darkened cinema would stand out.
Cornpop@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 9d
They aren’t sunglasses, they are regular ass looking eyeglasses.
Squizzy@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 8d
Do you wear sunglasses at the movies?
Cornpop@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 8d
Well I can’t see worth a shit so I wear glasses yea. Where do you get the idea that they are only sunglasses?
