Hi,
After lurking on meshtastic for a year or so and never seeing another node, I thought I'd try meshcore.
Flashed a heltec v3 and put it up high and to my surprise nodes started appearing. Lots of them! I was seeing nodes on the other side of the country!
But after about a day I stopped seeing adverts. In the end I factory reset it in case something was corrupted. But after that I see no nodes at all still.
I wonder what happened. One critical router went down perhaps. Or environmental conditions changed.
I flashed a second heltec and my two speak to each other no issue.
Where'd all the nodes go?
Any ideas?

I'd go with a node that was bridging you and other nodes went down.
MeshMapper might be able to give some clarity if thede are enough observer nodes to graph the network.

That or perhaps broken antenna or cable.

The nearest node on that map would be about an hour's drive away.
The in-app map was teaming with nodes the other day.

Is there any water between you and the other nodes? Or has there been big pressure systems moving through? Or heavy fog?
Could be the troposphere played a role in your previous success. Or fog. Or even tropospheric ducting, which can net you several hundred miles of additional range that would otherwise be impossible.
See it in Michigan all the time. We can't connect with Wisconsin because of the lake, but a few days a month, especially in the spring and fall, signals will make the 100 mile jump, and the mesh lights up.

We had some rain, but there are no large bodies of water.

Water isn't strictly required, it's just a lot more common over water. But it can happen during times of high humidity too. Or big pressure systems, like rain.
I don't have much experience with that though.
