Don't buy a Bic lighter, buy one of the cheap adjustable ones. Pop off the metal piece on top. Move the adjuster to max, lift the adjuster up so it no longer interfaces with the gear, move to min, lower adjuster back down, repeat.
The bigger flame will help with properly smoking the Crack.
