i think he's doing it either as retribution for not helping with iran or as leverage to get them to do something with iran.

He has no reasons. He doesn't think beyond bullying. His handlers and backers however appear to be a death cult.

I don't share your confidence of their confidence. Weakening the US economically, isolating it from allies, destroying herd immunity and public health, bringing back formerly extirpated/eradicated diseases and pests.

The rich and powerful are not protected from this. The opposite of win-win is not win-lose, its lose lose.

I wish people who are being played would understand they are being played. Trump has very good reasons for these tariffs - market disruption and opportunity for insiders to make big money and he applies and lifts, increases and decreases week to week.

They didn't help but they were happy about it. They probably just needed a little more convincing and less threatening, and they'd have happily joined its big brother like an excited todller.
