If Climate Change defrosts Antarctica. [OC]

Honestly, will France blockade us? Will we ally with the Kiwis? Will America pressure us to sell territory? When do we start fortifying? Will climate change ever make this relevant? What will the spying and sabotage situation be?

There'll be no mentionable human civilisation left when that ice has melted.

Climate change or not, the Antarctic Treaty System still means that no state may claim territorial sovereignty or exploit resources for national gain.

Yeah right, watch the US just claim it all

Lol China will take it all. U think the next 50years will be respectfully and law abiding when food and water runs out in whole countries

When, not if.

You might want to factor in at least 60m of sea level rise in that case, submerging the land where over 80% of humans live.

One worry a decade or two ago was that with climate change the west Antarctic ice sheet would slide into the sea. If it did it would raise sea levels 10m in hours (in the speed of an ocean wave)

We now know that isn't a significant threat.

If all Antarctica melted it's bad for civilisation, tens of metres of sea level rise. 60 to 70 metres.
