But only one, we def couldn't handle more then that if we're going to treat them like a full province.
Because if we take to many in at once they would change the political landscape drasticly, to a point we'd likely not want even if they are blue states.
I don't think that will work out. Slavery is totally illegal in Canada while it is still allowed as punishment for a crime in the US. Texas has declared itself independent twice to maintain the institution of slavery, they'd definitely do it a third time for all that prison labor money.
