The anti-LGBTQ+ group argues that schools must notify parents when a student uses different names or pronouns at school, even without the student’s consent.

How do these people live without a massive guilt stone in their stomachs all the time
Snowies@lemmy.zip · 27 pts · 1d
Sadism is the path that connects them all together.
They want to see liberals and leftists and minorities in pain. They enjoy it.
Amuro_eat@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 13 pts · 1d
It’s just so foreign to me to feel that way, it’s really difficult to fathom how some people arrive to that path. I’m sure it stems from fear but yikes.
Snowies@lemmy.zip · 7 pts · 1d
It feels more like resentment than fear im ngl
Forester@pawb.social · 3 pts · 23h
From my personal observations, it's kind of like how during the Holocaust the Nazis recruited the Kapos. Some people would gladly join their persecutors if it meant they would have power over their peers and the chance of lesser punishment towards themselves.

Desire for power can be reduced down to fear based

This unfortunately, I wish they (far right extremists) would get bone cancer
ynthrepic@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 1d
You think they give a shit? They buy the bullshit that this is endangering their children. That there's social contagion and theirs could be next, and it also means their kid might be going to hell etc.
Unfortunately, changing hearts and minds is complicated. But it's the only way we get to a world of empathy toward those of us who are different.
Amuro_eat@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 4 pts · 1d
I don’t think they give a shit, hence my question
halcyoncmdr@piefed.social · 5 pts · 1d
Are you just now discovering that about a third of the population simply lack empathy? They are incapable of feeling for others, sociopaths.
It's why you see so many people say they'll pray for people in bad situations instead of actually helping in any way... for some reason is a socially acceptable replacement for doing absolutely nothing with no repurcussions.
Amuro_eat@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 1d
It was a rhetorical question
GolfFoxtrotLima@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 18h
That’s the problem, they have no shame and refuse to feel any guilt about what they are doing
Soulphite@reddthat.com · 30 pts · 1d
The fuck do these dipshits care so much what someone else does that has virtually zero affect on them? If they'd spend their time and energy on things that ACTUALLY improve society, then the country would be a far better place.
Nah, these fucks enjoy dystopia for some god damn reason. Disgusting humans all around.
Zombiepirate@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 1d
They care very much about social hierarchy, and the idea that someone would try to refuse their role sickens them.
It's the conservative social contract: they accept that their betters can tell them what to do and how to live so long as they get that privilege over those who are inferior to them.
Gender is an incredibly important part of this hierarchy, and everyone must fit into the box they were born into. Jumping one's station, rejecting privilege, or outright refusing to play their game infuriates them.

What a pathetic way to waste your own life

They should rename themselves Three Moms [1] For (Southern) Liberty, since their kind of "liberty" is not the type of liberty most people are familiar with.
[1] By the way, one of the moms was involved with a threesome with her husband. Her husband is now tied up in some assault accusation since he showed up to bang the other woman even when she cancelled because she was more into one of the moms for "liberty", it seems. In other words, good xtian family values types that should totally be involved in what teachers divulge about other people's kids.

This is why I’m not longer a free speech absolutist. Some people should not be given a platform to broadcast hateful ideologies or have access to power. Impressionable people fall for fascist rhetoric and no amount of reasoning will get them to change their mind.
Fucking Karens For Liberty. These women will be the first to piss and moan as they become property for their husbands, and lose their rights to work or vote. The leopards are licking their chops.
Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 22h
What is a free speech absolutist in practice? I don't really understand the concept, because it seems like forcing your "speech" onto another, which diminishes their "speech"
hoppeduponcoffee@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 21h
So I was using Elon Musk’s terminology there… it was his justification for allowing neo-Nazis, white nationalists and any alt-right ideology taking heads to spread hateful ideology and misinformation without consequences on social media (X).
Like, all people should be able to say anything they want, whenever they want, without consequences.
I think there should be restrictions on that kind of nonsense. If someone just spouts racial slurs and makes prejudiced comments, that’s just being an asshole. But if you’re suggesting that certain groups should lose their human rights based on differences that aren’t causing physical harm to other people, that is hate speech and should absolutely be shut down by the law… with at least a fine and obligatory classes for re-education and critical thinking.
If your blaming specific marginalized and vulnerable groups for things they aren’t doing via generalizations, and using that as justification to take their basic rights, same thing.
These people agitate others in times of cyclical economic difficulties and use that as a lever to gain power. It is not rational discourse that contributes anything, it simply contributes to the deterioration of societies and human rights.
While that may sound a bit authoritarian to some, ALL governments use authority to restrict the behavior of its citizens. Where that line gets drawn is up to the citizens of that government. And I think it’s overdue for the line to be redrawn. We should be hunting down right wing fascist hate groups and suppressing them out of existence.
Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 21h
You are getting into a lot of philosophical arguments, I am trying to define it in a technical aspect.
Does free speech absolutistism mean that anyone should be able to post CP on Elon's platform(s) like X or Twitter or whatever we are calling it and guarantee the platform won't remove it?
hoppeduponcoffee@lemmy.zip · 3 pts · 21h
Sorry about that. Yes, you are correct. People post whatever the hell they want on X, as long as it supports fascist ideology, and not have it removed.
Wakmrow@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 22h

Exposing kids, exposing themselves to kids... As long as kids are getting exposed or traumatized, Republicans are happy.

The only person who should out s trans person, is that trans person. The reason the parents done know should be obvious. Teachers should be trusted individuals in our community.

I hate how people act like it's about just wanting to know. No, if a child is afraid to come out to their parents, but comfortable being out at their high school (infamous dens of bullying), they likely have some reason they fear their parents.
::: spoiler Tap for spoiler Leelah Alcorn's parents never accepted their role in their daughter's suicide. Trans teens are still more likely to be kicked out or mistreated to the point they seek whatever means they can to not be in their situation anymore. This includes suicide and running away, even to people looking to prey on them. :::

"Won't someone think of the children?!!!!" is the emotional cry of transphobes that sometimes gains traction with people on the fence, but demanding that the schools out children is quite a fucking take.

Moms for Liberty need to get fucked so hard. Too bad they are all ignorant sluts and no one wants to put their dick in crazy. Hope their children abandon them and they all die alone.
CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1d
One of them was in a threesome involving her husband. A godly marriage is between a man and his wife and some other woman. That the husband is now accused of assaulting, by the way.
Manjushri@piefed.social · 2 pts · 1d
Not just any member, it was one of the founders who liked to get it on with her husband and other women. Her husband, by the way, was at the time the head of the Florida Republican Party. He's had some problems though.
...
When you are planning a threesome and your wife can't make it so the other woman bails because she's more interested in your wife than she is in you, the natural thing to do (if you're a Republican) is to rape her.
CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 16h
This is why I say it should be called the Three Moms for Southern Liberty. It's started by three ladies.
