Why preorder a digital-only game? It's not as if there's limited stock you're trying to ensure you get.

Not preordering GTA 6 (not even interested), but I have preordered a handful of digital games and likely will again.
For me the primary benefit is mental. Preorder bonuses are BS, they can shove those. But if I know I'll be buying a game, and have immense confidence in the studio's quality and consistency, then I like to move the purchase decision further ahead of the release. Otherwise, I find myself thinking stuff like "well that's a lot of money, maybe I should skip this one", thoughts like that. But when it's a big game I'm excited about, preordering it silences that voice, and allows me to properly enjoy getting hyped for the release date, and to stop overanalyzing the purchase and just be excited.
As a whole, I think the practice is a little scummy, and I don't at all like the way publishers try to bait you into paying full price before reviews even release with cheap skins. But for a few rare studios and franchises, I appreciate the option.

"Wait... Why play a video game to steal cars, run over pedestrians and fuck hookers? I can do that IRL!"

The kids in my old country buy shitty beaters and modify it to be… basically a tricked out GTA car. Then dozens of them burn down the street for hours at night and the cops just don’t do anything.

Happens here too. Especially the city I live in which has a classic car and hotrod fetish because American Graffiti was filmed here.

Oh those muscle cars definitely make noise. I swear these kids are just drilling holes in the muffler. Who needs a catalytic converter amirite?

The guy who made "whistle tips" a meme was just up north of here. They got more popular in the Bay Area than around here, thankfully.

Well, I didn’t know what those were until now. And my god what fresh hell that is.
“How can I annoy literally everyone today?”

I'm pretty sure at the end of this article the author almost reinvents My Summer Car by accident.

Did you mean Saints Row?
GTA is usually relatively grounded in, if not reality, at least TV and movies about reality.
djsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 4 pts · 4d
Saints Row takes it to a more absurd level, but let's not pretend like GTA is some simulation of real life. It's a fictionalized version of America that pushes the sex, drugs and violence to the extreme.

Did you read the entire article or just the title?

I read to the whole article, the way I usually do, to see if you edited out all the obvious AI tells.

The title should tell me what the article is about. I often dont read articles because I dont trust the title to be accurate of the content.
Dispassionate@quokk.au · 1 pts · 4d
Does this title say what the article is about?
