Look on the bright side, at least you served as valuable distraction from the Epstein files

So valuable people didn't forget about it and tie the war to Epstein's network of elites

I have never seen that much rust on an active USN ship! That's insane and indicative of serious neglect.
I served on this same ship during the extended deployment in support of the invasion of Iraq in 2003. It was not even close to being this bad.
What the actual fuck did they do to that ship?

It looks like they're at the point of needing to drydock it. I guess they haven't been able to keep the paint going with how long they've been at sea and underway.

Neglected, ignored, improperly furnished, and otherwise fucked it royally?

A former Air Service Vet from a few few decades back was quite thorough in explaining how the US has traditionally taken very good care of it's military hardware.
He said after the soviets fell there was some joint thing with the whatever the plane the soviets were using, stutkas or whatever, with the B-42's, and the same year planes were striking in that the Russians' was all rusted and looked like shit while the Flying Fortress was pristine.
My point being that these fucking clowns are making everything work less well.

I wonder how many sexually exploited people get abused for money at the navy boys' expense?
green_red_black@slrpnk.net · 4 pts · 1d
Likely an unprecedented amount since I doubt the professional standards to not engage in such activities is being enforced by this administration
bedwyr@piefed.ca · 1 pts · 1d
Bet there are some pretty horrendous pimps and human traffickers involved in the Thai hooker trade when 5k men cycle ashore.
It would be a trivial thing for the US to take them down too. But yeah they won't bother, unless it's just to demand protection money from them.

It's more Warlord Pete thinks enforcing standards like "no drinking and partying overseas." Is stupid and woke, after all what's so bad letting warriors have fun on shore leave.
bedwyr@piefed.ca · 1 pts · 1d
I actually think the sailors should be able to drink and womanize or whateverise on shore leave. In fact, I think soldiers should receive a ration of 1 gallon of ale a night. Maybe half idk. But I think we should police the vendors for human rights abuses like trafficking woman.
As to whether soldiers should be using prostitutes at all. They already aren't supposed to I presume, but there is no stopping it. Plus Greasy Pete is on a kick about trying to make their military leadership look tough and manly, so those rules might be on the back burner. But they will do it anyway, we can't stop it, not in thailand, but we could make sure we aren't patronizing slavers.
Ha ha, warlord pete, good one. He would like to think so. The greasy little poser.

Next week the ship will be riding low in the water because of the weight of the STDs picked up during shore leave.

Not that the law has ever mattered but it's still illegal for them to hire prostitutes there.

It's educational. I want to encourage people to more actively research what they consume.
