The crazy thing to think about this is, for an entire generation, this is what Harry Potter is going to be to them, and the movies will feel like the knock-offs. Or at least, not the "real" or "original" versions.
I've never watched or read Harry Potter, nor do I plan to, but this reality hit me when watching the new Little House On The Prairie adaptation, having both listened to audiobook versions of the original books and watched the NBC show as a child.
