You wouldn't be able to catch the references tho, only if you were a good artist you could catch the references but as an amateur you cant do that. Its just more powerful than you can create with the idea.. Seriously you spend hours recreating this picture to prove a point.

You can literally just label everything you can't draw with words and it would be the more likeable and moral approach. The AI isn't fun to look at. The AI actively disgusts us.

Take a stock image of a carousel and photos of the people on it. Clip their faces or whole bodies (it doesn't have to be neat or perfect) and arrange them on the horses.
