That looks like the French cleats of the clothing industry. Not bad.
Jilanico@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 9d
Haha that's a good way of putting it!

Are these the same pants as that mega pocket one you made?
Pretty cool!
Jilanico@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 9d
Yeah I added the "supercargo" pocket to the other leg π the initial idea was to have two pairs of pants: one with MOLLE on both legs and the other with "supercargo" pockets on both legs. But I figured I could just prototype both ideas on a single pair.
sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz · 8 pts · 9d
Nice. Have you tried them on when filled to capacity? What's moving around like that feel like?
Jilanico@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 9d
I've worn them like this, but not with stuff in every pocket. With the pockets all empty it feels normal enough. iirc I tossed a water bottle in the supercargo pocket and it was fine.
If I stuffed everything to capacity, I'd probably need to tighten my belt. But having that many pockets is unreasonable anyways.

The task suspenders were made for!
SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 8 pts · 9d
Task-tical suspenders?
Jilanico@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 9d
I made those too:

Holy Santa clause shit. The whole look is quite something!
Gork@sopuli.xyz · 5 pts · 9d
There's tons of MOLLE compatible equipment. Is there a point where it is impractical and ridiculous with what you can fit on them?
Jilanico@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 9d
I've all but filled it up and I'm self aware enough to know it looks ridiculous, but I'm something of a fashion maximalist. I don't think anyone actually needs that much on their pants for any practical purpose.
sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz · 4 pts · 9d
That's legit. Staying up with a belt is adequate. I wish I had a pair at my last job, I had so much bullshit to carry up into ceiling rafters. Anyway, thanks for sharing!

It's missing a cod piece.
Also I think the caution decal is kinda funny. "Watch out knee incoming better stay clear"

Awesome!
Great concept.
Though I've found the vertical hammer to be a real pain.
Horizontal at the belt line is the shit.
Jilanico@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 9d
Thanks :) If they make a MOLLE horizontal holder, you could put it anywhere on the pants π
viral.vegabond@piefed.social · 1 pts · 8d
I don't think I've ever seen a horizontal hammer holder, do you have a link perhaps?

Actually it's that empty look that inspired me to begin with. Astronauts on the ISS wear pants with Velcro strips to hold equipment. When I saw that I got the idea to use MOLLE.
With a tablet attached:

Oh yeah itβs a fantastic idea. Itβs just a bit too much with the final photo lol. I feel it would be hard to walk.

These are very much 'standing pants'

hell yeah, molle pants. Molle gear makes for the best pockets
ToiletFlushShowerScream@piefed.world · 4 pts · 9d
What is the pant fabric? It doesnβt look like something Iβd expect to support all of that weight so easily.
Jilanico@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 9d
It's a cotton polyester twill. Feels durable.
