The relationship has ended by my decision. :(

PeelerSheila@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 7d (3 replies)

I feel for you, it's a hard decision to have to make. ๐Ÿซ‚

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 4d (2 replies)

I remember your breakup. I hope its going well these days.

PeelerSheila@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 3d (1 reply)

It is , we're quite civil most of the time these days. I had to let go of a lot of resentment about the past. When we had kids I expected him to be my "other half" but he wasn't and there's no point dwelling on that now. We were both different people back then, and I realised it was my own resentment which was stopping me from moving forward now and just living a happy life.

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 3d

That sounds very positive for you.

imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone · 9 pts · 7d

Hugs. Be gentle with yourself. Even if you ended it it still sucks

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 9 pts · 7d

I'm sorry to hear that ๐Ÿ˜”

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 7d

I'm so sorry. ๐Ÿซ‚

Catfish@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 7d

Hard even when it's for the best. Internet hugs.

SpinMeAround@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 7d (1 reply)

If it's a not a tough thing, even when you know it's right, it's another whole basket of issues. Hope you're doing okay, happy to lend an ear either way!

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 7d

Thanks. There was no "thing" wrong, it just wasn't right. Previously idve spent a few months growing to resent things before acting, so I guess this is an improvement.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 7d

Sorry to hear it man. Be extra kind to yourself for a while โค๏ธ

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 7d

So sorry. Itโ€™s a hard thing to have to do.

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 7d

Sucks to hear it happened that way but glad you made the right choice early

lowtheseal@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 7d

I'm sorry to hear that :(

Holy Shit his lordship got me a switch 2. In this economy???

A1kmm@lemmy.amxl.com · 5 pts · 7d (1 reply)

Funny story about that brand name - at a past job the company promoted that a switch would be given out as the prize for the winner of the internal hackathon. A few of us were quite disappointed to learn it was a gaming console and not networking equipment!

Taleya@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 7d

IDK are we talking a basic gigabit or L3?

Mathematics and crawling into the roof for breakfast. Apparently we have enough points to get the insulation for 'free' and really want it done before the expected horrid summer. Seems to be enough old copper up there to be worth selling too. Bonus ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ

Bottom_racer@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 7d (3 replies)

Seems to be enough old copper up there

I'm going to ask the awkward but hard question... wh... why is there a lot of copper up there?

Taleya@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 7d (1 reply)

If the house is old enough it had a tank up there

Catfish@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 7d

Correct

Catfish@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 7d

Defunct hot water heater and piping

Idk about Big Karma, but Small Karma is real. The other day I was doing laundry and a lady asked for help with how to pay; she'd never been to a laundromat before and she was washing stuff per her work duties. I showed her the touch screen thing, and as she went to start the machine I went to pay. I clicked out of the "do you want a receipt" screen and not a millisecond later she said "they don't give receipts then?" and I said no.

Anyway, because I'm a small time scumbag, my compromised thumbnail has totally snapped off.

anyone know why Boomer women have suddenly been all about Appreciate The Men In Your Life? Not just talking FD, but they're all about the mens loving. It's something I've seen flung a bit.

CadMunt@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 7d (4 replies)

It's not the scumbag media pushing it pretending it's coming from boomer women?

Taleya@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 7d (1 reply)

No, this is literally out of the mouth of four today

CadMunt@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 7d

Some women push other women down, perpetuating the misogynistic, patriarchal system. They don't want change, because they don't think they can benefit from it, therefore no one can benefit from it.

I'd feel sorry for them, but their peers were out in the streets fighting for our rights, so fuck them cunts.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 7d (1 reply)

" They donโ€™t want change, because they donโ€™t think they can benefit from it, therefore no one can benefit from it."

This is the mentality of the racist white woman.

StudChud@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 7d

A racist white woman is very unlikely to be a true ally to anyone but her white man and her church.

A truly untrustworthy specimen of the human race lol

Pilk@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 7d
