• that would be strategically extremely advantageous - for Sweden as well, since I’m sure they’d be interested to see what crazy adaptations the Canucks come up with, and perhaps adapt into subsequent flights as fully supported options or standard features
• another thumb in the eye of the Orange Regime, because afaik local production was never on the table
• also, very prudent because who the fuck knows what the regime (or whatever comes after) is gonna try to pull vis a vis expansionism to distract from things being increasingly awful at home
• more investment in rebuilding the Canadian aerospace industry, which was more or less unceremoniously killed by the US as a result of Cold War defense politics and defense-industrial fuckery
