The same basic thing also happened in 2013 for the Model S, was investigated by the NHTSA after 2 fires, and Tesla quickly offered a fix for free.
I wonder what changed that made Tesla so unafraid of the regulators by 2026? ;)

The glove compartment should include marshmallows on sticks. During your final moments, small gestures make all the difference.

It should make the whoopie cushion sound when the electric system fails and all the doors jam.

Yes. And when combined with a fire, a sad trombone sound.

The marshmallows can have little swastikas on them too.

I mean they're already white, just throw little sturmtruppen hats on them

Muskrat's so racist he won't even use pink marshmallows.

Late-stage capitalism, from Tesla: Invent a dangerous problem, charge triple to fix it. Brag about your ingenuity and engineering prowess.

There's some funny videos floating around with car salesmen telling cybertruck owners their 100k vehicle is now worth 60k less than a year after purchase.

I want these God forsaken machines to fail, but dont most cars massive depreciate after a year?
SpruceBringsteen@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 20h
That's the sort of depreciation you'd see over five years, not one.

It least in Canada its actually on par. This source says 35% drop in the first year is normal. Again, not defending those hideous machines though. Im glad they are illegal in the EU and wish they were off the roads in Canada too (for safety reasons for instance).

we’re talking 100k to 40k here tho, 60% is nearly double 35%
KayLeadfoot@fedia.io · 2 pts · 6h
Even I can math that math!
Spoilers: I pre-mathed it. It's dismal or very funny, depending on if your car is a Tesla: https://fuelarc.com/evs/the-top-3-fastest-depreciating-cars-in-2026-are-all-teslas/

After I lost all my teeth in a bike accident where the wheel just fucked fell the fuck off.... I'm going to purchase a front tire retaining screw from the same company that made the bike! Everybody wins!!!

Wow. This guy looks just like Childish Gambino.

Also looks like a young Tracy Jordan or Troy Barnes, of Greendale fame. I hear that his online handle is donglover83.
