receiver 1 and 2 are fantastic games for total weirdos. if the idea of operating every moving part of a pistol with separate keyboard keys appeals to you even slightly, check em out ^^
ah jeeze my FIRST thought was something like “wow those are crazy thin, i bet some tiny part could break in half and i’d have a hard time even knowing” hahahah
were i in your shoes, my next course of action would be fucken around in the service manual. sorry if i’m getting a little too invested in a stranger’s walkmen, i just have a passion for repairing dead tech!!
sounds like maybe the autostop is triggering when it shouldn’t. i had a similar problem on a full size cassette deck but i never actually found out what caused it specifically. i just kept cleaning everything until eventually it worked correctly. MAYBE there’s a tried spring somewhere that’s finding resistance where there isn’t any?
it sucks that everything looks like it should work, but it’s doubly annoying that the problems are happening on a walkman. at least on a desktop cassette deck you can easily tear it down to parts and watch everything work in realtime. that’s a bit of an ask for anything miniaturized 😄
they’re super not waterproof! sony had some “sport” walkmen that featured rubber seals and a lil locking clip, but even those i’d be careful around water with hahah
usually belts, but if you’ve taken them apart you’d probably notice that? otherwise the most common thing to go wrong in vintage audio is blown/tried capacitors, and that’s ALWAYS a fucken headache.
what’s actually going wrong with em? if they’re eating tapes it’s probably just a gummy pinch roller!
i have no idea how they can make this argument in a world with other digital vendors. like if sony was the only game in town this would make A LITTLE sense, but can’t the prosecution just point at GOG here?
i have a roughly flour-bag-sized airtight storage container, and then i keep that ensemble in the freezer bc i was raised to believe that made a difference somehow
B3313 is great! if you’re at all nostalgic over sm64 it’s deffo worth a look

i still have my team momary hoodie, i got unironically really invested that year
i had no idea you were a Leftist Activist! is that an appointed position or were you voted into power?
thank you!! i’ll have a lil forray into breads once i finish with hot sauce ^^

everyday and life school
i have that same one! funnily enough they actually hold up REALLY WELL over time because the “sealed” interior makes the rubber belts age slower lmao

let’s be real, that’s basically victim blaming.
anyway PTB because i have an unrelated outstanding beef with the mod team.
i’m jealous! i’m finally cooking more, but i’m hardly baking at all. gotta just try meat pies or something else simple.
finally someone does something

it’s so easy to do right, but it’s even easier to fuck it up.
i had completely blocked that from memory
i had the same setup! it actually just got replaced by a first gen thinkpad yoga. the surfaces are really hard to actually use on a lap hahaha
LOVING gnome on a touch screen tho
