Got a small loan of a million dollars from my father back in the 70s or 80s (so more like 8 to 10 million now). Wait, no, that was some other guy.

If you can get a grant (government or nonprofit), I'd suggest going for it. It's equity-free funding, but only exists for certain industries and projects.
I have some experience with them, if anyone has specific questions.
