Has a bit of a cronyism smell to it to be honest. The company barely exists and is far from having a functional rocket or transport ship. It basically consists of a bunch of former ESA/Ariane engineers and some politically well connected private venture capital funders and that's it.
Sure, not much other choice for ESA right now and Nasa has shown that the model of early fixed price contracts can be sucessful to jumpstart a private launch company, but it is still smelly.
