Macklemore claimed Monday the Jewish NFL owner Robert Kraft pressured Ed Sheeran to drop him from his tour after pro-Palestinian elements of his show.
“Ed told me Robert Kraft called him,” Macklemore wrote on X Monday. “We were scheduled to play Gillette Stadium later this month, which is owned by the Kraft group. Ed told me that Kraft said I would not be allowed to perform in his stadium.”
“Ed also told me that Kraft had rallied some of the other stadium owners and collectively they gave him an ultimatum: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you will not be allowed to play in our venues,” he added.

Macklemore didn't say anything about Kraft being Jewish, that emphasis is nothing but editorializing by a Zionist right-wing rag.

“Doesn’t take sides” yet there are clips of him in support of Ukraine

Another spineless sellout

I'm a little confused. They didn't use the phrase doesn't take sides and it seemed pretty clear where everyone stood. Macklemore has made several pro‐Palestine statements, they note Kraft withheld donations to Columbia after pro-Palestine protests, and Macklemore said Sheeran was more or less left with no option but to drop him and doesn't fault him here.

It’s from a post Macklemore made:
"He told me that the words 'Free Palestine' and the image of the Palestinian flag were hurtful to a lot of people he spoke with.
I told him that if those words were more offensive than tens of thousands of Palestinian children being killed by Israel, then there was a fundamental disconnect between where those people stood and where I stood.
But he couldn't get past his public facing, 'I don't take sides'."

Siding with Ukraine is only controversial in handful of countries. Its default position in many. So he didn't pick a side, only went with the flow.

So he's on the side of Palestine and Ukraine, that's good.

Should have been more clear, I was referring to Ed Sheeran. He is not on the side of Palestine.

He probably is but just decided to be a total bitch because his 400 million net worth isn't enough. The man has bills to pay!
In the US of all places it would have been so fucking easy to pull the "free speech" card and support his friend if he didn't want to take a stand himself. The backlash against Kraft would have been enormous if he'd played his hand and actually cancelled the gigs.
Fuck Ed Sheeran.

shoutout for risking his career to slip a "psst hey genocide" into discourse again when the status quo media is most actively burying it. that's what artists were supposed to be doing.

NY Post is, as always, a garbage propaganda rag. Macklemore's statement explicitly says, "I am not a victim," and does not mention Kraft's Jewish identity at all.
Note that these same studio owners have had no problem hosting Kanye West after he literally said, "Heil Hitler." This is because antizionism is a much bigger problem for the powers that be than actual antisemitism is. It's unfortunate that OP won't see that on account of blocking me for saying that, because this just goes to show my position was correct.
The ruling class only cares if people are opposed to Israel, whether people hate Jews is negotiable.

If anyone still believes in the fairy tale of free speech under capitalism, here is yet another example of why that's bullshit. Capitalists own everything, they get to set the rules since it's their private property, and the artists that made it big by being spineless will collaborate with them on closing the mouth of any real artist in their tour because the capitalists have a metric fuckton of money that they will lose out on if they don't.
Manalith@midwest.social · 4 pts · 3d
Whoa whoa whoa, it's an imperial fuckton of money thank you very much. No self respecting capitalist would use such a woke measurement system.
/s, we love metric here

I had a look into Kraft. Looks like I won't be buying Heinz beans, Phillidelphia spread, Maxwell House in addition to all the Nestle products I boycott.

i bet it's ignorance -- he's likely a centrist that "avoids politics" so genuinely doesn't know what's going one like 1/3 of americans do as they continue to support trump despite everything he's done to them.

Isnt being pro-genocide worse then greed?

Robert Kraft had commented on the topic a hour or two before this was posted.
