So a workers state can be liberal, in a sense that there is no free market, but freedom of love, freedom of movement, freedom of lifestyle or freedom of job choice or it could be authoritarian in a sense of prosecution of gays, presribed places of living, prescribed places of work and forcing people to live in a certain way.
Left = money and power should be distributed
Right= money and power should be centralized
Liberal = do what you want in every other aspect then power and money
Authoritarian = live the way the majority dictates, dont diverge.
Those categories are not useless in and off theorself, its just that the website uses them wrong.
For example: anarchism - communism - socialism - Leninism are all on the political left, as they all want power to be distributed among the many, but they differ in their level of liberalism/authoritarianism.
(Though it is to note that none of the ideologies praises authoritharian policys, its just that some deem them more necessary in the beginning than others)
Left Liberal societies accept and protect minorities if they dont try to accumulat power/money
Left authoritarian societies try to extinguish/assimilate minorities into the hegemonial culture no matter what.

Edit: I'm pretty sure my non -8 value on the l/r axis comes from my approvement of tariffs (to be paid by the importer) to protect domestic industry, to even out advantages other countries may have because they don't give a fuck about environmental standards, paying a living wage and occupational safety. If you don't do that, you get situations like in Germany, which was one of the leading solar panel manufacturers before cheap chinese panels came along and wreaked havoc on the german market. In those cases, tariffs can be a useful tool, because it would be a nice thing if the necessary solar revolution would not be based on an exploitative basis.

I am of the sincere, wholehearted belief that gay interracial couples have the constitutional right to defend their cannabis plants with M240 machine guns, and am supportive of the idea of universal healthcare and postsecondary education in the US. However, I also admit to being more supportive of the US military and its actions abroad then most here would likely appreciate, seeing as I’m a military brat myself, and remain cautious/skeptical of, albeit less-than-hostile nowadays to, leftward economic policies. I also don’t have quite the hate-boner for AI that much of this platform seems to have.
