Ketamine is still used in anesthesia on humans in many countries.
Also, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is a thing now, I'll be having my second session next month.
Been a couple decades since I did much reading in this area, but as I recall, it was around the Vietnam war, when it was being used as a field anaesthetic.
