Housemate has decided to have him cremated (he was technically theirs), and I've secretly called the crematorium to have him upgraded to an urn that looks like a sleeping cat, so he will look nice amongst their little fancy knick knacks shelf.

Today my evil plan to mow the lawns while the GF is on may have to be postponed due to hot weather (not good for lawns). So I'm going to start up the mower at 8.30 am precisely to wake everyone up so that they can get ready for the GF or whatever they plan to do. It's a public service really.

Welp that's the rest of my weekend fucked. I was ok with not going anywhere too far and once a day popping over to my friends place to look after her cats while she's interstate but this morning as I was taking her to the airport I got a phone call from my dad's friend saying dad's sick and he's asked if I can come and stay at the house. So I'll have to drive from Melton back into my place in Docklands, then scoot over to hers to look after the cats (no parking at hers) then come back here to Melton.
Dad has taken up residence in the lounge with a spew bucket so I don't want to be near that. I've just taken myself to a back bedroom where I've just got my phone to keep entertained, ready to be called in when he needs something.
I guess that means I could get a Buddy's pie for lunch though. I better not catch whatever dad's got or I'll be PISSED.
Oh gosh. I hope dad recovers quickly. Remember chunky beef pie. Their plain or curry pies are good too. Pop next door for a home style sausage roll for Ron.

Finally finished my last assignment for this trimesters unit. It was a group assignment. 4 in a group. 2 did nothing. How is it fair my grade suffers because of them?
Group work sucks.

So glad work was quiet today. Stopped off at coles on the way home and I've never seen northcote plaza so quiet. It was also great for autistic butt to be able to shop at coles with barely any people. There should be grand finals every day. Went out rental scooting after taking care of the cats. It's lovely out. Missed a phone call from my nan, she leaves a voicemail message "it's not important, just wondering how your dad is" (no idea why she didn't call him) so I keep scooting. She calls 4 more times in 5 minutes. Leaves another almost identical voicemail message. Old people.
What on earth do you get a 12 year old girl you don't know well for a birthday present? She isn't close to my son and he's totally clueless as to her likes and interests.
Edit: Thanks so much everyone, I went from having no idea what a girl gets for a birthday to debating options with my son. I was set to get her the beads, even had them in my hand and he was certain that she wouldn't like them - instead she'd like a basketball. Which is what we ended up getting. Oh the water bottle is a certain possibility for closer friends. They're starting high school in a few months and I remember stuff like this being a status symbol in that environment. In my day it was shoes (Reebok pumps and then later, Air Jordan's).
I'm not a fan of either summer or winter. I prefer to focus on enjoying the in-between times in autumn and spring and not dragging them down by focussing on weather I don't like.
Glaze took 5-6 hours to process 4 small images on medium and just returned an error on my favourite one... Fuckkkk. But I can post the landscapes now (as late as it is). The picture of Melbcat can be posted tomorrow.
Keep in mind that while I did traditional art as a kid I've been art blocked for a long time. I'm also new to digital, this was done on a phone screen half the size of a hanky and also in the first few weeks of having the app. So I was and am still learning to use it. This is the chronological first one. It's so intensely blue because it's meant to be at the 'blue hour' of dawn or dusk. I like the colours I randomly picked by eye but it's overall it's a bit dark to see well at smaller sizes. Opening it in a new tab helps.

I like how every picture leads your eye in a different direction. 😊 The waterfall leads down, the stream leads across to the right and the cactus leads up
I actually own a Collingwood scarf from back when I used to watch the game with my best mate and his family who were Collingwood diehards, it was more fun to follow with them. Especially when they won a grand final and we all got real REAL drunk and sang and cried and hugged. It was a good time. I haven't seen him or them for about 9 years. I should really get rid of the scarf because I feel nothing that they won just now.
See, I barrick for Adelaide since that's where I was born, but my family was never a huge fan of sports. Like my dad barricked for the roos but it wasn't religious in my family. Though my grandpa LOVED Geelong (later in life, when I was a kid he was a "whoever wins" kind fo guy) but my uncle is a massive Hawthorne supporter. Like joined the club and everything massive.
On a more somber note, temperature will be high(ish) today so if you have a moment of clarity between rounds, make sure and drink a quick glass of water here and there.

Got 3 op shop vinyls today. 2 of Elizabethan airs and dances using original instruments and a dudley moore trio album. The Elizabethan ones are really nice, kind of like listening to a movie of a Shakespeare play.
The last I haven't played yet. Dudley was a very good musician and composer, the album could be either awful or amazing. Won't know until I play it.

For those of you who've dealt with a body corporate before - what's involved, what are the pitfalls and would I be better-off removing my own epidermis with a potato peeler than dealing with one?
Exercises completed in between loads of washing. I decided it was perfect blanket washing weather and have been doing just that. I didn't realise I had so many of the damn things!
I've run out of potatoes (shopping tomorrow with the Minipeelers so they can choose some healthy snacks that they will actually eat). It makes me realise how much we eat potato. The only time we don't is if we're having something with pasta or rice. God I'm a bogan!
Several people in this broader residential complex must be watching the footy, there's been a few muffled squawks coming from some of the apartments and townhouses and I'm fairly confident it's not from the varied avian visitors to this area.
I went to Temu to buy some string, and ended up buying many things. Hopefully Miss Meow likes her new toys. I almost bought a Christmas tree shaped cat scratcher too, but managed to stop myself.
Ugh. I left wet clothes in the basket overnight. Glaze is taking even longer than it should because not enough memory, so I might as well load those back in for another wash and do a few dishes. Maybe I'll even pop it on a short timer so I can grab a shower first.

My wife really knows some really simple recipes that are delicious.
A few days ago she prepared some chopped up tomatoes, shallots, seasoned with a bit of salt. Loved it.
Last week when I asked her what she wanted for breakfast, she responded with rice and bacon, nothing else. Also loved it.

Ate a bit too much and now stuck in a stupor. Have picked up groceries to cook for tonight and the one thing that snapped me out of feeling lobotomised was the outrageousness of paying $3 for one of those stupid little plastic trays of coriander - not even a whole bunch but a few measly leaves. I felt dirty paying for it because I had nowhere else to get any nearby. Coriander: definitely one of those things totally worth growing if you can.

So glad work was quiet today. Stopped off at coles on the way home and I've never seen northcote plaza so quiet. It was also great for autistic butt to be able to shop at coles with barely any people. There should be grand finals every day. Also, I don't follow footy at all but may Collingwood die on the field and suffer in their jocks for eternity. I want to drink their miserable tears and gain sustenance and power from their grief.

Went out rental scooting after taking care of the cats. It's lovely out. Glaze took 5-6 hours to process 4 small images on medium and just returned an error on my favourite one... Fuckkkk. But I can post the landscapes now (as late as it is). The picture of Melbcat can be posted tomorrow.
Keep in mind that while I did traditional art as a kid I've been art blocked for a long time. I'm also new to digital, this was done on a phone screen half the size of a hanky and also in the first few weeks of having the app. So I was and am still learning to use it. I actually own a Collingwood scarf from back when I used to watch the game with my best mate and his family who were Collingwood diehards, it was more fun to follow with them. Especially when they won a grand final and we all got real REAL drunk and sang and cried and hugged. It was a good time. I haven't seen him or them for about 9 years. Got 3 op shop vinyls today. 2 of Elizabethan airs and dances using original instruments and a dudley moore trio album. The Elizabethan ones are really nice, kind of like listening to a movie of a Shakespeare play.

Several people in this broader residential complex must be watching the footy, there's been a few muffled squawks coming from some of the apartments and townhouses and I'm fairly confident it's not from the varied avian visitors to this area.

I went to Temu to buy some string, and ended up buying many things. Hopefully Miss Meow likes her new toys. I almost bought a Christmas tree shaped cat scratcher too, but managed to stop myself.

Ugh. I left wet clothes in the basket overnight. Glaze is taking even longer than it should because not enough memory, so I might as well load those back in for another wash and do a few dishes. Maybe I'll even pop it on a short timer so I can grab a shower first.
