Did it get an ending or was it cancelled abruptly?

Literally can’t be bothered to start a show that doesn’t have an ending already. Why invest any time with a show that doesn’t give a shit about the story and just wants to make money and cancels the moment profitability is gone.

scrubbles@poptalk.scrubbles.tech · 11 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Yeah studios hate this because they want to know how invested people are to know if they should continue. However they made the problem themselves by cancelling so many good shows.

Netflix leaked that if something isn't crazy popular after season 1 it won't get picked up again, which is asinine because we all know so many shows don't get their legs until season 2 or 3

sheogorath@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y (1 reply)

But to be honest if the story gets good after 2 or 3 seasons the amount of people watching will still be smaller than the first season. I've been so turned off by the WoT series on Amazon, when people said the season 2 is better than season 1 I still didn't have the energy to watch it.

Frozengyro@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

It's by far better than S1. Watch it so we can get more seasons.

RIP The Expanse. Relatable meme.

01189998819991197253@infosec.pub · 2 pts · 2y (4 replies)

The exact show that came to mind when I saw this meme. I WANT MORE!

TheControlled@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y (3 replies)

There's hope. Just rumors, but hope.

sheogorath@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y (2 replies)

IIRC the current plan is to secure a new source of funding. It might take years, but I think it'll work out because the next novel is basically a time skip to a new arc with a new set of main characters.

01189998819991197253@infosec.pub · 1 pts · 2y

They're books?! Flippin A!

Give me Naomi or give me death.

tenchiken@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 10 pts · 2y (6 replies)

Mr. Robot 🫗

I rewatch that one every year or so now. So good.

LongbottomLeaf@lemmy.nz · 4 pts · 2y (3 replies)

Hello, friend.

tenchiken@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Sam being the one to kill him, and the whole "Goodbye friend" bit, about destroyed me. Last season had some amazing bits.

ultra@feddit.ro · 3 pts · 2y (1 reply)

BRO ADD A SPOILER ALERT

tenchiken@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 2y

It's only a little death... Nothing permanent at that point. Then it's gets really good.

ryry1985@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y

Same. I wish I could watch it for the first time again.

FlexibleToast@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y

Then I'd have to sit through the second season again. I almost stopped watching the show after that season. It got much better again after and saved itself.

HowMany@lemmy.ml · 8 pts · 2y (3 replies)

When Firefly abruptly stops towards the end of season 1.

01189998819991197253@infosec.pub · 3 pts · 2y (2 replies)

At least we got a movie. It wasn't enough, but it was better than nothing.

HowMany@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 2y (1 reply)

A hasty finish up but done in good faith. Yep.

01189998819991197253@infosec.pub · 2 pts · 2y

Agreed!

Me for years after Breaking Bad, then again after Better Call Saul

RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 2y

Watch One Piece.

ThrowawayPermanente@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 2y

Parks and Recreation. Rest in peace, baby.

sexy_peach@feddit.de · 5 pts · 2y (5 replies)

Start watching It's always sunny in philadelphia, but skip season 1.

RQG@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y (4 replies)

Why skip the fist? I haven't watched it but people keep recommending it.

nooneescapesthelaw@lemmy.ml · 5 pts · 2y

First season doesn't have frank reynolds/danny devito so maybe that's why

RadButNotAChad@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y (2 replies)

First season isn't bad, it's a little more grounded in reality. As a person who watched it when it premiered, it was something new and wild, but it's definitely tamer, and also as someone mentioned, does not have the craziness of Danny Devito.

RQG@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y

Doesn't seem like an instant skip to me. But good to know that if I find it a bit tame then I can keep watching or skip to the next season.

sexy_peach@feddit.de · 1 pts · 2y

Danny devito is missing which leaves the season with less of their crazy energy. Also they started as a very small production with little money and I think that shows more in the first season.

Anyways, you can start with the first but just know that the show changes somewhat afterwards, it get's better.

pythonoob@programming.dev · 5 pts · 2y

The Expanse :/

lunarul@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y

Try binging an entire show for several nights in a row just to find out the last episode hasn't aired yet...

Pothetato@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y

Now you watch YouTube videos and read discussions about the show.

FunkyMonk@kbin.social · 3 pts · 2y

There is always anime.

SebSnares@feddit.de · 3 pts · 2y

Six seasons and a movie 🥲

lichtmetzger@feddit.de · 3 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Shitt's Creek could've gone on forever, change my mind.

01189998819991197253@infosec.pub · 2 pts · 2y

I will not change your mind. I agree completely.

BigDaddySlim@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y

I binge watched Bill Hader's "Barry" when the last season came out and didn't know what to do afterwards.

Also had the same feeling when Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad both ended. Such good shows.

TheYear2525@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y (1 reply)

At least we still had some Angel left.

01189998819991197253@infosec.pub · 1 pts · 2y

The vampire show? I never could get into it, even after watching several seasons, and thoroughly enjoying the actors' skill levels. But that theme song... I have it on my music player. It's so good!

EnderMB@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

That's me waiting for more episodes of Hajime No Ippo.

kamehameherp@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I honestly don't know what I'll do when One Piece ends, I've been watching it for the majority of my life.

kratoz29@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 2y

Rewatch?

Wait for Netflix to finish the adaptation? /s

LongbottomLeaf@lemmy.nz · 2 pts · 2y

Narcos? Now begins the rewatch with subtitles set to Español.

Enzy@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 2y

Me at the SGU cliffhanger.

01189998819991197253@infosec.pub · 1 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Do what I do, and start that mess over! You know what's better than watching your favorite show? Watching it again!

sheogorath@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y

I have never been able to watch something more than once. The only movie that I can watch more than once is Pacific Rim, because big robots and the story flows so well you don't realize you're already at the end of the movie.

kratoz29@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 2y

That will be me when Attack on Titan ends this Nov 4.

sweafa@discuss.tchncs.de · 1 pts · 2y

then you have to go with one piece again

AlecSadler@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 2y

Billions for me. The spinoffs don't sound appealing.

RickyRigatoni@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 2y

WATCH IT AGAIN :D
