PC LOAD LITTER

troglodytis@lemmy.world · 27 pts · 2y (7 replies)

What thefuck does that mean?

PoolloverNathan@programming.dev · 18 pts · 2y (2 replies)

It's a pun on PC LOAD LETTER, which is an old error message roughly meaning "load letter paper into the paper cartridge". The other person thought you replied to the other² person.

The comment is also a reference.

Printer-cat, Printer-cat,

Does whatever a printer can

Prints your paper, any size,

Out of ink, what a surprise

Look Out!

Here sits the printer cat.

It it me or I just read it in tune of Particle men. Or is it a parody of particle men.

stankmut@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 2y (1 reply)

It's to the tune of the 1967 Spider-Man TV show theme. I imagine the particle man song also references it.

"But... It's warm! Warm things are meant for sitting on!"

thrawn21@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I know right? My first thought was put a heating pad on the windowsill, and the cat will be much more likely to choose that spot.

bmsok@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 2y

What are they feeding you?

NAXLAB@lemmy.world · 26 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Cats prefer higher temperatures than humans. Give them any other warm thing to sit on and they will sit there instead.

BigBlackCockroach@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Why not get the cat a heated blanket instead?

thewitchslayer@sh.itjust.works · 21 pts · 2y

If you buy something for a cat, they won't use it.

turkalino@lemmy.yachts · 21 pts · 2y (3 replies)

Ok, but there's another cat who is approved to be on the printer?? What's their story?

BeMoreCareful@lemdro.id · 12 pts · 2y (2 replies)

I that that's him in the window

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 2y (1 reply)

That's him in the spot. light.

Cats apparently freak out on tinfoil when they land. It’s a great way to train them off your counter tops.

Though do provide them alternative places to be and paths to where they like to go- cats like to be up where they can see everything, so cat shelves to a cat cave etc or a stool near where you’re working, will encourage them off counters, or desks. Especially with the tinfoil scaring them every time the try and make the jump.

PowerGloveSoBad@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 2y

This recommendation gets passed around a lot online, but usually doesn't include the reason why it works so well. From a scientific standpoint, it's because cats movement works off of 5G, which is reflected by heavy gauge tinfoil when the shiny side is facing out. It's not surprising that sites mostly controlled by the government don't want that information distributed.

Who would have thought that a box of all things would be a useful cat repellant.

cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 10 pts · 2y

using a box as a cat deterrent seems like a fools errand

What even is the downside here? Copycats? When has more kitties ever been a problem?
