It’s not completely ridiculous, there are some use cases for long eye relief, but yeah it’s dumb as fuck lol
Extreme example there are lots of red dot users who do something similar on other types of rifles
The only real problem is when you bridge the optics between the upper and the hand guard, where your zero will be affected
