The US military is one of the largest, most logistically active organizations on the globe, so the conclusion makes sense. But per capita or per activity? That's going to be some energy intense manufacturer. Probably Chinese.
South Korea needs to decide whose side they'll be on if China invades Taiwan and attacks US Pacific forces. We have a feeling the current president will back China. They have to fear North Korea to be any political use.
The problem isn't the phone policy. Digital technology reduces classroom learning. The problem is that the bureaucrats that run our schools cannot fathom a lower cost solution and are poor stewards of public money. That's why they spend $18k per child per year in a low cost of living state and still pay teachers beggars salaries.
I get it, but one also has to preserve their own character so to avoid becoming what we detest in others. For me, telling the lie would not be compatible with who I wish to be.
Monopsony is the word for it. They are suggesting that China is becoming such a large buyer of oil relative to other buyers that oil producers are forced to do what China wants. China would be stupid to test that theory, however. Long-term denial of oil to China would absolutely destroy this energy-poor country.
The Saudis must (out of strategic necessity) always align with whoever is the greatest air power and ability to forward deploy. It won't be China any time soon. Saudi Arabia is very vulnerable to air power that can forward deploy.
Restaurants that do not provide table service (such as fast casual chains) do not rely on tipped workers, but I am not sure those workers do any better than workers who live on tips.
Truth be told, at least 1/3 of the drivers out there should have their licenses yanked and be given generous access to public options: Buses, trains, rides, etc.
