Meanwhile, China continues it's record breaking coal use and Eastern China is on track to beat its own 2025 record of generating more than 50% of the worlds global CFC-11 ozone depleting gasses. Hurray China!

And yet their emissions are lower...

Business goes to China when they want to kill domestic jobs and destroy the planet. China doesn't care about workers or the climate.

Bademantel@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 1d

No, they went to China to increase their short term profits. That's the primary goal of any action they take. What you listed are symptoms.

Yes China is an inherently evil country unlike us right?

You think "moving jobs to China and killing domestic jobs, killing the planet in the process" is not in the "inherently evil" category?

if the workers didn't demand a living wage china would stop being cheaper

Lower only because it was taken away from them. Not really a win when it's temporary, is it?

Are you American or Canadian? Then you really don't have the luxury to complain. Take a look at your own share of fossil vs renewables and weep because even "doesn't care about people or the environment China" does it leagues better than you.

The thing nobody wants to acknowledge and they are actively building more coal plants. ANYONE building coal plants for generating is a bad thing pretty much full stop.

Go on.

"Due to international markets..."

Keep going.

"As a result of... ongoing conflicts..."

Almost there.

"Because of Trump bombing Iran."

There you go.

Don't be intellectually lazy, China has been working on reducing fossil dependence for years. Not purely because of the climate, but because it's a limited strategic resources.

Very interesting and lots of detail on the 5 year plans. Thanks!
