I do think copyright should still exist, but with fair use being significantly expanded, maybe something like CC BY-NC?.

The bit about being non-transferable and owned by the individual creator is exactly what I was thinking.

Also: fuck patents.

I have that bike too!! branded "stratton", but has the exact same frame. I've been gradually repairing it, and it's currently in my living room (workshop) waiting for parts (incl. new winding wire for the dynamo). It's 50% brown paint and 50% rust, and the tyres (presumably original) are splitting apart, but I don't plan on fixing anything that still works. There is just too much rust for me to feasibly remove or paint over. Will try to add a photo tomorrow.

Edit (The saddle is temporary, I still plan on fixing the original):

One rather complicated method of accessing whatsapp:

  • Install the whatsapp app within an android emulator on your computer (such as waydroid).
  • Create an account using a throw-away number (I got a £10 pay-as-you-go sim just for that, though you will need to put the sim in a phone to get the verification sms).
  • Access whatsapp on your computer or phone through web.whatsapp.com (there seems to be an f-droid app for that too) (They recently added support for voice+video calls).
  • You will need to boot up the android emulator every 2 weeks to sign in to whatsapp web.

My laptop's screen died, and in taking it apart to see if it was reparable/replaceable, I tore off the antenna socket from the WiFi card. The WiFi card can be easily replaced, but there is still a bit of it stuck in the end of the antenna cable that hasn't come out yet... I'm not sure what the solution is yet (I might try soldering the cable to the card directly, if I decide the cable is a lost cause anyway).

Also my phone had it's last breath last week, so now I'm using a 20 yr old laptop, and a 10 yr old phone.

I believe some motorised trailers use a sensor in the tow bar to detect if the tow bar is under tension or compression. Under tension, increase the throttle, under compression, decrease the throttle. They also might have brakes which could be applied under strong compression.

I've never used one myself though.

Standard breeze, but I use light cursors on a dark background. I think that makes more sense.
