It achieved a lot because in addition to those nuisances you had groups like the black Panthers demonstrating that should they not be respected they will use the means they need to enact their change. Don't be so willfully ignorant of the past.
If violence was so ineffective at creating change militaries would not exist. Those who wish to oppress you will do so by any means necessary, combating that oppression takes the same resolve. You dont get any where by tolerating intolerance.
There's a real problem in the world, and especially in the US, where the moment someone is even moderately upset about something they immediately start pulling weapons.
Honestly this isnt true we have ignored all the underlying systemic issues that put these people into pressure cookers ready to pop. Erosion of education left them unable to interpret the world beyond force fed propaganda pointing blame on those that would be allies instead of being targeted as enemies/shouldering the blame. We have never provided proper health care that could aid in reducing mental and physical trauma. We have ignored others needs for safe housing and secure food sources, which means people are stuck in fight or flight. Just to name a few common systemic issues. Sure you may see one specific moderate problem that in isolation shouldn't create the reactions you see, but people today are like a superheated liquid just waiting for the smallest of disturbances to set them off.
Most of these people have never even been met part way because the system ensures they have no means to come to the table and ensures they are constantly pitted against each other so no class conscience can form.
Hmm iracing so if the races I go into are clean I'm pretty happy with that trade, if I get stuck in lower splits with people intentionally wrecking others, im probably dead in a few days lol
They can find issues now though. Will they also find non issues due to missing context or not understanding the whole operational picture, well yes, but you can usually filter those ones out quickly. While i wish we had QA back and it be a norm again in software engineering as a whole, without it I'm happy to have something look for ways my code will break in unexpected manners that testers previously handled. Is it the same as having someone sit their and try and break your shit for the sole purpose of finding a spot where something will go completely off the rails, no its not but with a lack of true QA and rushed timelines that leave little room for quality QA yourself. I dont mind having something else that will try to gage my code from all angels and suggest areas that might have bugs I did not intend for or did not catch when I was reviewing my code. Especially considering I can do this without making users of my code the guinea pigs in lieu of an actual QA department. Sometimes you have to make the best of a shitty situation and honestly its an improvement over no QA which has been a norm for a while now so I'll take the small wins where I can
I tried some pickled onions from an Idian place near me and while I generally hate onions in all forms (except onion powder or onion flavored chips for some reason) I didnt realize how different they could taste when made in proper ways. I was literally eating them on their own by the spoonful because they were so good, never in my life did I expect that to ever happen. So while its prevelant in Indian dishes, it just feels like they know how to actually use them versus some plain disgusting raw onion chopped and added to like a salad or burger. Like anything there is always nuance, and that day I learned it ever applied to the eating onions lol
So graphene is also not open source then by your metrics? So some of the ui is closed source while on an os where you can trace and verify what is going on but an android derivative where you cant track whats going on in the os as freely with more critical closed source portions of its hardware is supposedly more open to you?

Sure interest makes money but it makes it at a higher risk, they want low risk consistent income you keeping a low Utilization tells them that according to the risk profile. You can literally open a card never use it and keep it open and your score will go up over time from "on time payments" a higher total credit limit with low Utilization and a longer credit age as that card ages.

Competition is what breeds innovation as you need to have the best product for its cost to capture market share. As copyright is inherently an anti-competitive practice only there to minimize risk it reduces innovation in favor of stable profits. Just because r&d costs money it doesnt mean that supply chains and production are handed to competitors for free. Its just a tool to minimize risk for venture capital because those who lobbied for it wanted to protect their assets from risk exposure and did so at the expense of consumers and innovation through lobbying. Removing it wouldnt stop people from creating solutions or trying to invent new products. Those who do the r & d always have a leg up as they have the research available to them for tweaking there process or final output that a competitor would not.
This shows the percentage of specific types of data centers but fails to mention how many are in each group, and what the cooling systems used on the most recently built data centers are. Right now AI specialized data centers are what are popping up everywhere with massive scale and that chart specifically shows that most use some form of closed loop cooling? Did your report show specific numbers of those datacenters per category and the energy/heat generated? Otherwise just a base percentage of each type obscurs a lot of context here.

Its more that SEO is so well known at this point you can whip up whatever AI generated garabge you want to be ranked high on search engines in seconds. For now the AIs are just better at "wading" through the trash since they somewhat curate the data its training on. Once all they can train it on is slop you better hope you still have some encyclopedias and text books laying around
No shit thats why its the lesser of two evils ffs....its about mimizing damage since there is not an option to fix everything all at once. Fixing cultural stigmas takes time and so does dealing with elections cycles to change out who is in office. Creating a power vacuum from a coupe or insurrection just opens the doors for even worse actors to stroll on in. Life is not a fairytale where you can just wish something into being, it takes small incremental steps to achieve lasting progress.
Honestly life probably still sucks for the hyper wealthy. Is it a more comfortable suck, sure, but they just get stuck into other patterns of unattainable goals. While there suffering is most likely self inflicted, i.e they base fulfillment on being the most powerful/wealthy yet never are able to attain it, they still never truly reach what they deem fulfilling lives. The fucked part is their greed and need for power ends up wrecking other life's who may have sensible goals of fulfillment, like being able to survive without being constantly on edge living pay check to paycheck. Now those goals could be attainable if those at the top weren't wrecking havoc on the world chasing unattainable fulfillment and making the most basic fulfillment which should be attainable unattainable for the masses, yet here we are.

As for the second part if you know the person hows it going can just be a conversation starter, its meant to ask what are you up to, i.e. is there a light topic we can have small talk about that isnt going to be too involved. You can respond with something along the lines of "I'm doing good, such and such happened the other day that was nice, how about you."
But whatever you do, if you can't handle being expected to respond to "hey hows it going?" with some variation of "not bad, you?", for the love of Christ, please don't willingly seek out employment where a key facet of the job is doing just that, or at the very least if you do, save the blinking and acting like Im inconveniencing you for asking a normal-ass question like "Is this the line to pay?" If you can't even handle that, that is not at all the fault of the person on the other side of the dialog.
Not everyone has the opportunity to get something that isnt customer facing. Most jobs created today are low wage service positions. People are tired and jaded at a world thats leaving them with a fucked up environment, no social safety nets, dwindling job prospects, increasing costs to live without rising wages, rising authoritarian governments all over the world. I get that those positions should have a bit more tact but I also empathize with those young employees who feel like the world has turned its back on them and so they are just doing the bare minimum to survive. The world is becoming less caring for its inhabitants are you really surprised those growing up in that environment are mirroring the treatment they get from the world back to you?
