3 and New Vegas are great games. 4 was okay, they just sold a lot of the soul in exchange for mass appeal, just like Skyrim did compared to Oblivion and Morrowind
100% fair! Personally I think Oblivion is better for those reasons too. Morrowind is really magical though, some of those more open systems provide opportunities that modern hand holding systems just can't recreate. It is definitely worth the time to get accustomed too, kind of like acquiring the taste for craft beer or fine wine. Stuff that you originally found offensive might become some of your favorite parts. No map markers so you have to read and follow directions is a good example of that. On the surface, it's a pain compared to modern games. But acquire the taste and suddenly you realize you're paying more attention to the world around you, mentally mapping landmarks. It's really immersive and cool in a way that walk towards this symbol isn't.
All that to say, your opinion is totally valid haha
Amen brother! After playing Morrowind and Oblivion and then getting Skyrim I was so disappointed. Feels like a mass appeal version of Elder Scrolls that was hollow compared to the other two
I'm in love! Is that your homestead? I grew up on a farm that my parents still live on, it's astonishingly similar to your neck of the woods, the pasture photo is my parent's place.
It's very dense around my house so hard to photograph, but here are my expecting neighbors! Should have some baby deer jumping and playing around the house soon!

I'm so confused, the paper wasps around here are territorial assholes. Had a nest built on my porch and had to stop using that door. We let them be because we built the house in their woods, but they were definitely not chill at all haha
Edit: Did some learning, the regional species of paper wasps we encounter are known not only for their aggression but also their vastly more painful sting. Wonderful!

We're outputting to a projector, but the UI is what's actually cutting it off unfortunately. I'm sure there is fix out there somewhere with a game this popular, I just need to do some digging 😁
My wife started Stardew valley the other day and we also had display issues trying to output 4K. Still had to max out the zoom and even then the dialog boxes are cut off until you zoom out. Unlucky
