I'm always so extremely confused about the trope of the personal project having shit quality... Like, if I'm doing something for myself, that's exactly the place where I wanna do something amazing, like literally all my private projects have much higher quality than my work ones - because in the work ones I'm forced to use stupid conventions, old tools, am not supposed to touch "legacy" code, etc etc etc
As such, since companies have their private code on GitHub, that's where I would expect the shittiness to come from, not personal private projects.
Idk, I never reinstalled anything and just installed a bunch of packages and followed some configuration guides for Arch and the respective packages. Took probably 5 hours or so to get the whole thing set up to a place where I could use it for 95% of things I usually do, which is gaming and browsing.
Would be cool to have the money to afford a car or motorcycle and their respective licenses/insurance/gas/etc.
And walking or bicycling 30+km? Some people don't have close friends.
And when traveling, in any case, you're still pretty exposed and have to go around lots of people.
I'm not saying you're entirely wrong, there's definitely ways to make it easier. But also you seem to just not be aware how different some people's perceptions/feelings are.
I'm not sure what you're arguing for here, you really can't be arguing against online interactions being muuuuch easier, that seems to just be obvious. And some people can only handle these easiest kinds of interactions.
Even if you make other kinds interactions easier, that's just not enough for some people. Then, internet interactions are amazing.
Do you see 2 white lines inside the empty space? No? Then it's not two lanes being kept free. Everyone is just at the very edge of their own lane. Sometimes lanes are just wide, it doesn't usually look like this.
It doesn't matter where you are. When you go to another place it's the same, you are not at home instantly when you start to leave, you have to ride buses and trains where there is more people.
Not really, though... There's all kinds of social rules to follow and if you're hosting people, while potentially valid, if you at one point just say "alright, everyone out, I've had enough" you ruin it for all the people who wanted to hang out.
If you go on a asynchronous anonymous online forum, you can stop interacting at any point for any reason and everyone will be fine with it and not care.
How is everyone acting like the poster is at fault here? How do you know their AI detection system isn't bullshit and they didn't drive entirely reasonably, and the detection system is actually the problem?
Use some common sense, people... Both things are possible here, a reckless driver or an overzealous detection system.

My country has a social safety net, you don't lose your home when you go unemployed. You just live in poverty instead, which for me, was preferable.

how do you mean? Doesn't it use the same Linux kernel as everyone else? Why would some hardware be more compatible?

True, but there are also exporter scripts for that stuff. Many projects have also mirroring already set up.

It is almost trivial to move git code from one hoster to another. If GitHub becomes so bad, you just move.
