Giving this much money to low-income workers has a disproportionate impact on inflation. The skyrocketing prices of frozen meals and gourmet animal products, for example, was a direct result of the food stamps.

I think this is more or less the point of the Belt and Road initiative. They are competing with Europe and the United States to obtain a "low-income" workforce.

I worked in the service industry, and I just avoided pronouns all together if the appearance was ambiguous. It was awkward, especially for the cis-gender people who can't control the way that they look.
