I noticed this about myself too. I don’t really get tired while doing something, but when I stop I’m immediately dead tired. Same with food, I don’t really notice I’m hungry until I really need to eat NOW.
A switch to control this or at least a warning light would be nice though. 🤷♂️
I run their act binary on one of my servers. Can't remember much of the setup, so I can't be too bad. I did have to change the used images though, but I guess that comes with maintenance of you own runner anyway.
I'm using gitea which has CI compatible to GitHub actions with my own runner. It's pretty straightforward to set up and didn't give me any headaches yet. It's a very small instance just for my ownaybe dozen projects though.
Most obviously OpenAI is still burning money like crazy and they also start offering porn AI as everyone else. 🤷♂️ Sometimes the current AI is useful, but as long as the hallucinations and plain wrong answers are still a thing I don’t see it eliminating all jobs.
It’s unfortunate that they destroy the text and video part of the internet on the way. Text was mostly broken before, but now images and videos are also untrustworthy and will be used for spam and misinformation.
Interesting. I didn't know the selective hearing has a name. This doesn't work for me, so I tend to give up on conversations after a while when I'm in loud environment. 🤷♂️
About sleep: I noticed that I only get a measurable effect from melatonin with very high dosage of 4.5mg. But I slept really well the past 5 days which is a drastic change from the previous weeks.
I mostly use AI as advanced autocomplete. But even just using it for documentation is wrong so often that I do't use it for anything more complex than tutorial level.
I got pretty far with cursor.com when doing basic stuff that i have to spend more time looking up documentation than writing code, but I wouldn't trust it with complex usec cases at this point.
I check back every 6 months or so, to keep track of the progress. Maybe I can spent my days as a software developer drinking cocktails by the pool yelling prompts into the machine soon, but so far I am not concerned I'll be replaced anytime soon.
This assumes it is about output. 20 years of experience tell me it's not about output, but about profits and those can be increased without touching output at all. 🤷♂️

That’s why I think it’s a major hype and bubble atm. There is no intelligence there and OpenAI will not come up with AGI in the near (or far) future.

What advantage does it have compared to extended mode of ublock? I used NoScript years ago but switched to ublock to block scripts and resources.
