Jurassic Trek! I love butterfly effect time travel episodes. The Dr Who references were pretty funny too.

That said, uhhhh did the pacing of each scene feel... off? Like the whole edit seemed slightly odd, hanging too long creating awkward moments, ESPECIALLY with every away team scene, and the Sol reveal felt flat. It's so strange to see editing be an issue in any Trek series but it definitely was a clunky handling of an otherwise really great sci-fi episode.

I think he's just giving these AI concepts to actual storyboard artists as it says he's "using it to communicate to his team". AI boards def are being used, I see it in advertising production but tbh we never hired storyboard artists either was always just some AP doing decks. It sucks that big productions are only using it though, I just didn't get that vibe in this instance. His films are almost certainly union jobs and wouldn't fuck with Al taking any role in production.

Yeah I got the take from "to communicate to his team" was aka kinda "pre-storyboarding" to illustrate his concepts to a team of creatives which eventually will include real storyboard and concept artists. If it's just a tool for a writer/director who doesn't really do concept art to help a real professional in that field hone his ideas, that's an acceptable use of AI imo. Just as long as none of it actually is used in the storyboards/concept art.

Weirdly relate to Kash Patel's girlfriend who stopped to grab a couple of bottles of champagne and wine before evacuating. I'd do the same. If the world's on fire, might as well dance before the flames.

Lmao yeah staged or not, absolutely this. If he's some foreign correspondent those people don't even flinch at accurate artillery fire. Nothing but respect for war journalists, they're some hard mother fuckers.

Yeah so much of this seems so weird. The USSS response compared to similar incidents with other presidents seemed so odd - they secured the VP first and that staged af picture of them in a very non-tactical stack in the lobby/hallway? The fact the shooter even got past a single layer of security with a shotgun?? And apparently was some kind of IDF supporter, has anyone confirmed that picture?

If it is staged, I wonder what genius thought to do this in a room literally filled with the world's leading investigative journalists and reporters lmao.

Yeah you're not wrong, but my takeaway is that it's at least going in the correct direction (haven't heard any white supremacist stuff but wouldn't surprise me in that part of the world). When your house is on fire, you care less about who's the guy with a hose.

Now we just gotta see if things improve through their EU vote and restoration of human rights in Hungary. Then their people need to work towards empowering more left parties. I'm at least somewhat hopeful, especially if it helps Ukraine.
